Purpose

This method statement outlines the procedures and guidelines followed by our company in the installation and maintenance of landscapes. The purpose is to ensure the efficient and safe execution of landscape projects while adhering to quality standards and promoting environmental sustainability.

This method statement applies to all landscape installation and maintenance activities undertaken by our company. It encompasses the following key areas:

1. Site Preparation

Clearing, grading, and soil preparation to create a suitable foundation for landscape installation.

2. Planting

Selection, sourcing, and proper installation of plants, trees, shrubs, and flowers, including soil amendments and fertilization as necessary.

3. Irrigation Systems

Design, installation, and maintenance of efficient irrigation systems, including timers, controllers, and water-saving techniques.

4. Hardscape Elements

Construction and installation of walkways, patios, retaining walls, pergolas, and other non-plant components of the landscape.

5. Maintenance

Ongoing care and maintenance of landscapes, including pruning, mulching, fertilizing, pest control, and regular inspections.

    Procedure

    The following steps outline the general procedure followed by our company in landscape installation and maintenance

    1. Project Planning and Design:
    • Consultation with clients to understand their requirements, preferences, and budget.
    • Site survey and analysis to assess soil conditions, drainage, sunlight exposure, and existing infrastructure.
    • Preparation of detailed landscape design and proposal, including plant selection, hardscape elements, and Irrigation plans.

          2. Site Preparation

    • Clearing of debris, rocks, and unwanted vegetation from the site.
    • Grading and levelling of the ground to ensure proper drainage and aesthetic appeal.
    • Soil testing and amendment to improve fertility, pH levels, and nutrient content.

          3. Installation of landscape elements

    • Sourcing and selection of high-quality plants, trees, and other landscape materials.
    • Careful installation of plants, ensuring appropriate spacing, depth, and proper planting techniques.
    • Construction and installation of hardscape elements according to design specifications and industry best practices.

          4. Maintenance

    • The landscape should be regularly inspected and monitored for indications of plant health, problems with
      the irrigation system, and any maintenance needs.
    • Plant shaping, trimming, and pruning are done to keep plants looking good and encourage healthy development.
    • Mulching, fertiliser applications, and weed control practices are used to feed plants and stop weed development.

          5. Documentation and Reporting

    • Maintaining accurate records of project details, including design plans, plant species, maintenance
      schedules, and any modifications made.
    • Regular reporting to clients on project progress, maintenance activities, and recommendations for enhancements or improvements
